CHAPTER 3 OPTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FINANCING GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION FOR PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIANS IN AMBULATORY CARE SETTINGS* Numerous individuals and committees have recommended ways to overcome barriers to financing GME in primary care and GME in ambulatory settings.

Ambulatory care is provided in settings such as dialysis clinics, ambulatory surgical centers, hospital outpatient departments, and the offices of physicians and other health professionals.
